From 2016 to 2018, Bliksem en Donderdag acted as an international podium where designs, concepts, ideas, and dilemmas are shared, tested and accelerated in front of an enthusiastic, responsive forum. This new platform gives makers, thinkers, doers and dreamers a chance to present their ideas. Everyone in the room is encouraged to respond and add to those ideas.

Bliksem en Donderdag was inspired by the famous ‘boterhamsessies’ (‘sandwich sessions’) with took place in the 1960’s at Philips Natlab Research Labs at Strijp-S. During these informal sessions, lab employees shared research and ideas – something unusual in an era of heavily guarded industrial secrets.

Koen has been an active participant in many of the past events, whether as a vocal member of the audience, speaker, or moderator.
